I believe all 6130's that come with the DVD+/-RW drive come with a LiteOn SDW-431S, but I could be wrong.
In any case, my beef is, I've got some Memorex CDRW's (blue case insert) that are Ultra Speed (4x-12x). The SDW-431S can only write at up to 10x, but that's not my point.
If I stick any of the 5 of these discs that I own into my drive and go into Nero 6.6.0.12 (newest version as of this writing) and see what it says in the Disc Info dialog, it says every single one of my CDRW's are "CD-ROM, Read Only" which is a little more than slighly annoying.
I've reflashed the firmware to see if that was it, no changes. I've emailed LiteOn and they told me that that model doesn't exist, and I'd have to contact my notebook manufacturer, which is complete bull because the firmware revision is MS0K and that just so happens to be the firmware for the LiteOn SDW-431SX (this drive in an ext. USB case). My girlfriend's computer properly recognizes these discs as CDRW's and can erase them no problems.
Has anyone else had any problems like this?

You may want to try some different discs. Media qaulity varies greatly. My old Panasonic UJ-845-B would only burn Memorex 16-24x CDRWs at 8x even though it was a 16x burner. You may also want to use Windows Update to update your ide drivers. Sometimes they cause problems. Good Luck.
I was robbed by a sweet little old lady on a motorized cart and I didn't even see it coming.
