If anyone still has the original hard drive in said model, could someone please download and run HDTune on it and find out what your access time is?

my is hanging around 18ms, which is slow considering it should prolly be around 12ms and i believe that it used to be close to 12ms. (can anyone confirm this?)

basically i want to take advantage of my extended warranty which has a 100% performance gurantee to get something new. If not that, going to work on the no lemon clause ;)

The spec say 12ms avg., which is under perfect conditions. If you hd needs de-frag and as it fills-up, the access times goes up. Mine is not installed. Upgraded a while back, the best thing I did.

How can you tell the difference with a 4200rpm drive, you wait all the time anyway.
