The 'Standby' and 'Hibernate' features don't seem to work correctly on my 6130HS-20 Laptop. I can get the unit to shutdown ok and the LED flashes the way it's supposed to, but then I press the Power button to bring the laptop back to a desktop, but it never makes it. Either the screen is black or I get the desktop wallpaper but no desktop icons, it's like it can't bring it back all the way. Any configuration settings I'm missing?

There must be someone here who has experienced this problem.

Sorry, no trouble here...

My averatec 3200 acts similarly. The unit was fine for
two weeks, and now hang in this 'standby-like' mode often.
Most often it occurs when requesting hybernate (which is trigered
from my power switch). The unit does not fully hybernate; the
power light and a low speed fan remain on. The wifi light
will still toggle with the wifi button. Neither the power button,
or any other key combo I have tried will recover. Need to hold the
power button down 7 seconds to power off and re-start.
This has sometimes occured going into or out of standby, and even a
few times in normal use.
Once I collect more information I will start a new thread (since
mine is a 3200). But I thought it worth posting since our problems
are similar.

I researched the BIOS for the Uniwill Mobo, looking for updates. Some of the BIOS versions address both of these issues.
NOW, I havent flashed my BIOS (i have no reason to) to verify, and i dont plan to. But this may be the pill for what ails you. The link is for what I understand to be the same as the 6130...but I only offer this as a reference...PLEASE DO NOT TAKE MY WORD AS GOLD. IF YOU FLASH AND ITS WRONG, I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE

I've had this behavior happens to me from time to time, but most of the time it's working ok. Hibernation works 98% of the time. My suggestion is that you use hibernation instead of standby, as standby mode can drain the battery completely in less than 24 hours.
