Hey all, I'm looking for an adapter for the AV6210HX80 specifically. I see that it must have specific specs because I can't find a generic anywhere,
It's supposed to be 19v 3.95A
Any leads?
BTW... my 6210 has been going since March '05. It's touchpad has quit but I'm reticent to send it out for repair, I have no idea what it will cost but I'm sure it will be an arm and a leg. The warranty is less than a year, yes? Anyway, no touchpad which forces me to travel with a mouse. It runs hot, but that doesn't appear to be anything new for the Averatecs.
I just recently got broadband, wireless reception has been very good around the house, but I only have a single story. I find that fan noise is really an issue, take it to a quiet meeting and it makes itself heard. It ramps up and can really whine..
Sleeping and hibernating suck. It's very inconsistent in it's behavior... Most of the time when coming back up it just hangs on the recovery screen forcing a hard reset. Every once in a while I'll hit a stretch where it comes up perfect everytime from a Sleep, then something changes and it goes back to it's errant ways.
It's slow, but I don't play games.. it's just meant for light productivity oriented tasks. The OS'less DVD feature rocks... love it.
Overall the laptop is pretty good. I would love to have my touchpad back. Finally after figuring out how to disable it while typing (boy for awhile I WISHED it didn't work), it just goes away... I realized how much I actually did use it despite having a USB mouse connected most of the time.
Anyway, an extra adapter would be nice, I'm tired of hassling with having only one and needing to lug it around with me, having one permanently at work would be nice.
Come to think of it, an extra battery would rock too...
Thanks all

Actually many of the power bricks are 19 volts output with the center pin positive. I have a Compaq Presario 2135US that is exactly that - volts and amps. Some HP printers are also 19 volts, but the amps is different.
Try some of your local computer repair places and see if they have any spare power bricks around the shop. -
I'm assuming that the amps have to dead on? I see there are a few aftermarkets available for the averatec, but none that are specifically 3.95 amps. There are 3.6, and others... Is it ok if the amps are slightly off?
I'm completely ignorant about electricity... -
It's hard to tell how close the amp figure must be on the low side. On the high side you are safe since the computer will not draw more than necessary. If you find one that is 3.6 amps and you can try it on your computer, check whether the computer will run with it with the battery removed.
6200 Adapter... stuff
