Im about to order a 6214, but I have a question about memory and dual channel. I get the concept of dual channel, but I don't know exactly how it works.

If I order for example a 6214W with 2x1024mb of ram, will it function as dual channel? Does the motherboard support dual?

I currently use a MSI s270 notebook with 2x512 mb of ram, but according to cpu-z, they are single channel, even though they are two identical RAM sticks

Yes, the Zepto does support dual channel, and with two 1 GB modules, it should run in dual channel. However, the benefit of dual channel is quite small. It will only help a little in certain circumstances.

There are a few threads about the subject of dual channel in the Harware forum here at NBR, if you would like to read more on the subject. Zero is right, dual channel memory is quite common these days, but the performance increase is really not that much.
