    Hello Zepto users,

In 2006 I bought a 6214W and I just lost my GPU. Only VGA mode is working but some colors are showing vertical artefacts. I was curious to know if other owners like me has same trouble.
In fact my problem starting with some strange freezing while playing, and suddenly after a cold boot I saw artefact on my grub. Since that date I can not use my computer other than in VGA or console text.

My computer is now out of warranty and I do not know what to do...I really want to save it even for office/internet purpose only.

If others have this problem it could be interesting to know, because I saw on an HP forum some series of Nvidia GPU was quite rubbish especially the 7600. Hp started to take care of some but neither Nividia nor constructor are clear about this, and as always end users are f**ked.

its probably the packing material problem wich is said to be only 8000-series but many think it also affects parts of the 7000 and 9000 series

Additionnaly to the weak GPU, this component is directly welded on the motherboard and it is difficult to find some spare parts. Zepto has not anymore spare for the 6214 series. I do not know what shall I do to make my laptop working again.
May be others have already replaced some parts in their 6214, the barebone is not only used by Zepto.
If someone has an idea I would be please to hear comments.

I found an old 6214W, it got problems (keyboard and cooler) but apparently the motherboard+GPU is still functionning. Normally I will be able to do the replacement by myself.
I already opened it and it does not looks so terrific. I paid this second hand for 10% of my Zepto value! but it was better than binning it. On ebay there was only one Zepto, so pray if you are in the same case.

How do you open it? I have removed all screws on mine, but the plastic is still stuck.

In the HDD bay there is at locking tab, it opens ok. But the rest is "hidden", how do you open these?

When can you remove the keyboard, after the plastic og before?

    Thanks in advance :)

My gpu died a few weeks ago too, send it in to zepto and it's now awaiting spare parts. I wondered if they even have these anymore, but guess they do.

Do you removed also screws near the combo CD/DVD and battery? Normally once all screws and the locking device in the HD bay is unlocked you can slowly open your notebook. I remember the first time I did it carefully because I did not know exactly, I was also afraid to break something but finally it was ok. From what I remember I started to open my Zepto from HD bay side and then I used a screw driver to continue loosing until all plastic came. My advise is to do it carrefully and check if you do not forget some screws.

Mine was out of the warranty period and they told to have no more spares.... they may lied to me. Then I also asked if they got spare mother board for the 6224W (which fits inside the 6214), they said yeas but did not want to sell as they only have fews....
Now my computer is still working and I have few spare in advance just in case. I was looking to find a replacing fan (likely the next defect) but it is not so easy to find the same. If someone found relevant information, please advise.

Would you be interested in helping out a fellow 6214w owner by selling me the spare screen? :)

I dropped it and now the screen is broken. :(

They have LOTS of those parts or they're just picking them out of the trash bin... My 6214 was "reapaired" twice, they took over 3 months to fix it and last week it broke again (same problem every time). My warranty expired a month ago so now i'm trying to contact them...

I have a 6214W with a broken screen and a GPU that died.
I did ask Swedish Zepto how much it would cost to replace them at Zepto repair.

The GPU is attached to the motherboard so I need to buy a new one... And that part do cost more than it would if I bought a brand New zepto laptop with everything. SO that sucks...

They wanted 6231 swedish kr för the replacement motherboard with GPU.
That equals to about 750 US $ just for the motherboard and GPU.. that seems way to much.
They wanted 190 US $ for a replacement screen for 6214W.

Well, Nvidia & Co. wanna sell notebooks! My Go 7600 too died like described here. Replacement costs are a joke (IT'S NOT MY FRIGGIN FAULT...).

Consequences: My new notebook won't be from Zepto and won't have Nvidia graphics.

Omg, my 7600go in my 6214W just died. My warranty is only expired for a month now. I'm going to check if zepto is a bit flex with this sort of problem (never hurts to try). But I'm never going to pay 700 dollars just to fix this brick
