Hi there guys! I purchased my 6214W about 1 month ago.
T2400 1.83GHz
2GB RAM
60GB 7200 HD
Connected up to my 32" Acer AT3201w, external mouse and keyboard.
Everythings been going fine and dandy up until recently. I've been playing some source games, specifically Counter-Strike: Source, Hidden: Source and HL2: Deathmatch. Now dont get me wrong the graphics card is great and handles the HL2 engine well but I think im getting some overheating issues. When playing games all of a sudden the laptop will just switch off. After a quick inspection its absolutely boiling! I assume it has reached a critical temperature and switch itself off? Anyway, I start it back up again and its as if nothing has happend. So off I go again and it will play the game for another 20-40 mins and switch off again.
I mean if the problem is overheating its just not what I want, I wanted a mobile gaming machine! It shall have to go back!
Has anyone got any other explanation? Or does my theory seem logical?
Does anyone know of any freeware temperature monitors so i can log the results?
Thanks guys
p.s. i keep the laptop on a wooden cupboard, with no obstructions and clear airflow

that has never happend to me.. But maybe a 32" screen is a bit of a strain for the graphic card.. I don't know.
Talk to the Zepto guy here on the forum, he'll be sure to help you out -
surey having the 32" makes no difference to the strain on the graphics card. normal resolution is 1280*768 and 32" is 1360*768, so ok a tiny little bit more strain. It uses its own power so I cant see it making a difference really, correct me if im wrong!

I downloaded speedfan last night and had it monitoring when I was playing the game. Please see the attachment, I dont know which tempterature is which component as it doesnt tell me. I got this screenshot when the game crashed to windows, I assume this is due to some problems with heating as it never does this when I play for upto 10 mins.
As you can see from the graph temp3 reached 89 degrees, temp1 reaches 87. I'll have a play tonight and see what the temperature reaches when it turns the laptop off
Any help is appreciated,

Your laptop is most deffinitely over heating, and it sounds like it could be CPU over heating. I had the same problem wiht my desktop, it would work untill a point then just switch off - completely dead - turned out with mine the cpu fan stopped working.
Check to make sure your laptop vents are clear, adn there is enough ventillation room. Also check to see if all the fans on your laptop are working -
With temps like that there is defineatly something that isnt working. Would contact zepto about it provided you didnt do anything to it hehe.

I dont want to read the entire thread
, i can say straight off that any turning off is most likely related to overheating... Pop that one in for an RMA, we'll have it fixed for you in a jiffy..
