    Hi there folks,

I've had my 6214w since jan -07, and it has work perfectly until now (this week). Previously I've used it mainly for picture and video editing, but I wanted to try some gaming to see what the zep was able to do. Unfortunately I get blue screen and reboot after 10-15 mins of playing games like Testdrive Unlimited.

The microsoft error reporting has suggested problems with BIOS, gfx and soundcard drivers. So I upgraded them all to the most recent (z118, nvidia 97.92 and realtek HD 1.66), but there's no difference at all.

Then I started to use NHC to monitor the temperatures. CPU temp varies between 43 C and 70 C when idle or watching hd movies. When gaming it maxed out at 87 C when blue screen appeared (seen in log-file afterwards). Not seriously hot right?

Has someone else experienced this? It doesn't feel too hot, and it works great when not gaming... I've also tested the RAM with memtest 1.70, no problems... Could it be software related somehow? I've read about problems with antivirus software in the zepto faq.

    spec:
    2.0 core 2 duo, 2 gig ram, 100 gb 7200 rpm
    avira antivirus, sygate firewall

    cheers,
    freddie

    HI freddie,

Regarding your below problem, what I suggest is to uninstall and reinstall properly the video drivers, in fact I had such problem in past when I was looking for the best video driver.

    Hope this help you,

I use the 97.92 from laptop2video and did not noticed any blue screen, on the Zepto webite the now offer the same version but I did not tested it.

In addition to my advice have also look to the website of your game editor in case of a patch.

unfortunately, my problems is still not resolved by trying different nvidia drivers. i've lately gotten a few random BSOD's too, and a couple of repeatable: playing (or rather trying to play) mounted dvd's through media center gives an instant BSOD for example.

could it be a similar problem to what 6615 owners are experiencing with the latest bios for their machines? should i consider a downgrade of the bios to 1.17? the error report always suggests faults in bios...

    cheers, freddie
