Hello Everyone!
I am thinking of making an add-on cooler for the Zepto 6224W and 6324W.
It will be placed above the current GPU cooler and thermaly connected with the keyboard cooling plate.
The cooler will be made in cupper or aluminum and will be made with CNC technology.
I posted this question on another forum and people were willing to give about 20Euro for such a cooler.
I will first make a prototype and verify the performance.
The cooler will eventually come in two designs:
1. the cheapest possible
2. highest performance.
If you are interested please send me a PM with your email adress and which kind you would prefer.
If too few people are interested, I think I will skip it/make just one for me.
NO COOLER WILL BE MADE FOR 6x25WD since it differs to much and cannot utilize the principle of the cooling.

Am very interested if you could adopt one for 6625wd,
not sure on architecture diferences but putting it out there! -
There is a slight chance the cooler could fit the 6625wd directly, but I don't know if it's built the same way as 6X24.
If I got my hands on a 6625wd maybee it would be possible to make a custom design for this model.
Maybee I can get into yours? -

Ha! Well I wouldn't be completely apposed to the idea...
drop me an email via my website (christophergrant.net). -

The cooler designs in the 6x24W and the 6x25WD are completely different.
-
for 6625wd, I would maby be in
-
i would be interested if I see some results first
-
I have about 20 interested right now. I would like to see about 40-50
-
Count me in!
-
It all depends on performance, how to mount it and price.
-
Make it for yourself, then video it and post results. At the moment it is all a fantasy, we need hard solid evidence.
However the idea is good. -
This is how the current GPU cooler looks like. Expect for the thin cupper that covers the fan the cooler is of the size of a "sockerbit". The heatpipe transports the heat to the cooler as you can see.
I think some heat from the GPU is transported to the bottomplate of the computer (the one covering the memories) -
eh, next time, post pics as attachments, its kinda imossible to look at that image, its too friggin big to fit my 1620 x 1024 (or something like that) screen
-
I am very interested in that cooler of yours. My gpu gets over 105c when I play games. Will this cooler reduce the temp allot or just a little?
-
105c ?? Is your GPU overclocked?
-
OC'ing or nog.. My GPU is about 100 degrees, when I'm full gaming!
-
I hope someone knows a solution for this because I can't even play a game without worrying about the temps. -
Get rid of those drivers immidiately
They're too old and not optimized.
You need to get at least 169.04! -
Well I already tried the 169.04 from guru3d.com but they didn't ran as smooth as the zepto ones. I am waiting till laptopvideo2go.com is back online so I can test them.
-
Hmm strange, what about the WHQL ones ? The 163.75 ?
-
Haven't tried those yet. I'll try them when laptopvideo2go is back online.
-
No need to wait for Laptopvideo2go, I can give you the modded inf.
Just a moment, i'll try and find it -
Laptopvideo2go.com works again ;-) (fora and driver-download)

Thanks CLB-NL, didn't know that
EDIT: I just saw the forums are open! Great! -
Hmm I see, but I can't download the drivers from them. Is it possible to use the drivers from nvidia.com too?
-
Just FYI 169.13 is released! I posted the links in this thread
-
Hey N0elia I thank you for helping me. My gpu decreased around 6 to 10 degrees with the new drivers. it's now idling around 96-100c when I am gaming. Also are these temps still a danger to my gpu? Because I heard someone saying that the Geforce 8x series can handle to 110c.
-
6 to 10 degrees ? Wow, that's a lot!
No I don't think it's dangerous, it's normal for dedicated graphics in notebooks to be that hot. -
If 110 would be the hardware limit, the card itself would hutdown at maby 90, cos it has protection for overheating. But im having about 92-93C when Im gaming, not OCd
-
Zepto claims the 8600m wont die before 125 degrees, so around just below 100 at maximum load on your gpu isnt unnormal.
mine is around 94-97 at max. -
Hey thomaskc what games do you play, because today I found out that in some games the temp will get higher than other games. For example if I play gears of war the temps can get up to 110c but when I play Stranglehold the temps gets between 90 and 100max.
-
well temps differ from how big the actual load on the GPU is
-
-
He has posted a picture of it on page 2 ;-)
-
Wow, you guys seriously need to clean your fans or something. I mean, I can understand that the 6224 gets close to a 100 degrees, but I have a 6625WD myself, and my max GPU temperature OC'ed(600/1050/475-ish) is 85 degrees.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=176937&highlight=Remove+6625wd+keyboard
The 6625 cooler is too much different and has an additional plate inbetween the keyboardplate and the GPU cooler. Therefore I will not make any 6625 cooler. Sorry! -

Sovepose=Sovsäck på svenska?
Nu får du lugna dig lite! Kommer ha en prototyp klar inom två veckor.
I will try to make a prototype in two weeks. Pictures and results of the performance will be posted then too. -
-
-
you forgot that little prefix on patiently
-
Ok guys! Today I made a prototype and have tried it!
I use OCZ Ultra 5+ as Thermal Compund.
The results I measured are not THAT impressive. :S
Without cooler: 450:400
Lightmark, Result: 133 Max 86C
ATITool, Result: 184 Temp: 96C
Cooling off from 96C
20s= 80C 45s=73C 60s=72C 90s=69C
With add-on cooler 450:400
Lightmark, Result: 137 Max 83C
ATITool Result: 184 Temp: 92C
Cooling off from 92C
20s=75C 45s=71 60s=69C 90s=67C
With add-on cooler 633:486
Lightmark, Result: 170 Max: 92C
ATITool, Result: 226 Max temp 96C + hang
Good thing is that it did'nt hang in Lightmark which it did without the cooler.
So folks! The results is something but not as much as one hoped for.
I should say that I made this prototype myselft out of Aluminium and I used my own eyes and a "skjutmått" (kind of ruler) and not fancy CNC-machines so the heatconducting area is not optimal. -
And a picture:

but aluminium isnt as good as copper in heat conducting?
-
Yes thats true! But aluminium is a good metal to make a protoype in
-
So, to get the proper results you need to make one in copper
