thanks for all the help I received for my previous problems guys :)

Here is somethink else that is bugging me a lot:

There seems to be some very big problem with the videocard and external monitors. First, with the default drivers I couldn't set it to use my external mon. as the default one, installing the latest XP 32bit drivers drom laptop2go solved this, but here is the biggest problem - I have something like constant waves on the screen especially when rendering direct3D stuff. I'm using 3ds max and when the viewports are set to direct 3d whenever I try to move or rotate stuff the whole workspace flickers slightly, when I switch to openGL the problem is almost gone, the flickering is much less intense. The same with 3D games... the screen flicks a lot when playing 3d games.
There's no problem when using the laptop's screen
I'm mainly using the laptop for 3D aplications, so this is a HUGE problem for me... I would have to sell the notebook if I couldn't fix the problem.
ps. tried it on two different monitors with the same result.

I fixed it, by plugging the monitor directly to the wall outlet
