    Hello,

I have some strange problems with a Znote 6224W (the GPU is still working! Yay!). Every time I shut it down it becomes dormant for a few seconds, with all lights and fans off, and then powers up again.

Strange thing is: it's not really as if it would have been rebooted, since the computer starts up immediately after powered down during a reboot, but now it is actually off for a short period of time (maybe 5s). Also, this only happens if the power cord is plugged in - i.e. I have to unplug the power every time I shut the computer down, in order to prevent it from starting up again.

I don't know if it's related, but the CD-rom is also dead. It has power and starts spinning/blinking when a CD is inserted, but the OS (right now, Ubuntu) does not detect any drive at all. It's not as it doesn't detect the disc - it doesn't even detect the reader!

    Any clues or suggestions?

I had something similar happen with my 6024W, except that the problem was coming out of hibernation after a few seconds.

See this thread for more about my problem and the solution.

Thank you for your answer, John.

Unfortunately, no hardware has been changed (apart from the cd-rom that stopped working - even if I do not know exactly when that happened), so your solution might not be what I'm looking for. Anyway, I tried changing TPM on/off with no difference. Neither do I get the error message (or any kind of error message) that you get.

I guess I'll have to disassemble the computer to see if I can find anything that looks odd.. it's one strange mystery, this.
