    Hey there :)

    My old friend, a Zepto 6324W, has just undergone some major repairs..
    But I failed somewhere.. I but dont know how, where, or why..

    Here is the short version:
    Hinges broke 2 months ago, just got new ones - took the computer apart, changed hinges, and put it back together.

    While putting the computer back together, I removed stickers attached to the keyboard (just the ones with model nr. etc.)..

    Then when Im done I want to start up the computer.. It would not.. Then I took the battery out, put in the AC power, it then lights up, the fan starts at 100%, but it does not start, then i press the "on" button, and it starts .... thats issue nr. 1. - Why does this happen ?

    nr.2 .. Now its running, but after 5-10 minuts, the touchpad (actually the capacitors(? 1 x 1 cm gray thing) underneath) are getting extreamly hot (+70 degres C).... I have tried to take everything apart to spot the problem, but everything seams normal.. Exept for the not starting, and "cooking" temperatur at my lap..

    So where did I fail.. And how do I fix it ?

    I am |-| <-- this close to buying the new lenovo X201 and then just using this old fellar as "gaming" rig at home, but since its cooking hot, I cant put it anywhere, without the risk of setting fire, og melting things (!)

    Help =)?

    Best Regards
    Michael - Denmark

    My only suggestion is to dismantle and reassemble again. Sometimes one can get things slightly wrong during the assembly stage.

    You might also, if you are careful, be able to run the computer in a partly dismantled condition to help identify the source of heat.

    I have tried that..
    And the heat souce is some capacitors under the touchpad, they are 1 x 1 (cm) and grey, its only the the two in the front that gets hot :/

    So any good advisces ?

    They might have been fried by static electricity if it was set on a carpet, etc.
