    Hi

So today when I watched a movie on my zepto 6324w and it crashed with a BSOD: page fault in non paged area.

Then on the reboot, there is pink vertical lines on the zepto image, and it mainly crashes before the vista login screen. Though safemode works...
I thought perhaps it was a gpu heat problem due to dust, so off went the keyboard and it was cleaned. That didn't help. I have tried to remove the ram, one at a time, still pink lines and crash. With no ram in it, it did not show the splash screen or anything else.

Since my laptop is affected before vista even starts, I am thinking this is not a software problem.

Curently I am trying some tips about how to deal with the BSOD, has anyone got some advice regarding this?

Oh, I might add that the programs I have installed within the last 24 hours have been removed again.

Also, my hd has been low on space the last couple of month, and it somehow seems vista started to use my external hd (firewire) as a temp drive. Don't know it this is somehow related.
The problem is still there without the external hd connected.

I also tried installing the latest bios, and using default values but that did not help.

Regarding the ram, I have yet to do a ram test, but I noticed that when I removed one of the modules, that the black plastic material seperating the ram from the mb was sort of melted onto the module. Apparently the temperature has been to high there.

I have also removed the nvidia driver and installed the one from zepto's ftp drive, but this only resulted in now right before the login screeen would have been shown, it just goes black for about a minute and then restarts. With the other driver, at least a BSOD was shown.

This sounds like a strange problem... Normally pink lines on the screen means a broken screen or a broken gpu, see this pic: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b157/Liam233/SCREENAGE.jpg .
Is the pink lines always there or only when you boot up?

Can you see what temps the gpu and cpu got in windows?

    Your GPU is toast.
