    6615 + Vista + IrDA: working and not working

    Hi,

    I'm running Vista Ultimate 32 Bit on my Znote 6615WD. The infrared device shows up as "activated" and "working" in the device manager (SMSC Fast Infrared Driver) but there's no IR icon in the systray when I move a activated IR device to the IR interface in front of the notebook.
    In the Windows Explorer's context menu (right mouse button menu) I don't find the "infrared device"-item (just bluetooth, desktop, e-mail, ....) within the "send to"-option for files...

    With Windows XP Professionial on the same computer everything works fine and as expected.

    Ideas? Hints? Tools?

    Several months and several patches later the problem still exists...

    Can anyone help with information about Vista, Zepto and infrared?

    Come to think of it, I may share your problem with my 6024W.

    I got an HP IR remote control to work with XP but it won't work with Vista. I never managed to solve that problem.

    I use XP on 6615WD and perhaps wont use vista.
    About the IR, havent use it yet.

    Doing like john did. I would share my prob.
    My problem with 6615WD is the touchpad gone wacko if i plug the lan cable, another one is the speaker that sound too loud and crap.

    I'm sorry cant help with the IR prob.
