    Hi all

    Hope someone can help.

    I'm just fixing a 6615WD with a Core DuoT2400, Gforce 7600Go for a friend.

My problem is that the laptop goes "black screen" after a while, after installing the VGA driver.. I have tried several different versions... But no luck, and the only solution is to turn the laptop off by holding down the power buttom.

The OS is a clean install of xp pro sp2

My friend had the laptop since may last year, and didn't have any problems playing WoW and BF2, but when he use MS officeprograms, or is just left turned on, it makes trouple..

The bios, and all the drivers are the newest from the zepto site.
I have cleaned the heatsink with canned air.
    Disabeled the powersaving in windows

    Any good ideas???

use RVtune to check the temprature. it might be overheating after a few minutes. cleaning the heatsink is good but wont help if the cooler is not in the right place.

Hmm GPU Core temp is around 46, and cpu temp around 40 idle... so I think thats cool enough

That is well within the limits. anything below 80°C wont cause problems. Try installing the original drivers from Zepto. If it is still a problem then I think its a hardware problem. Still have warranty?

#4 I have tried all the drivers from zeptos ftp site.. so you might be right

#5 It can be after 5 min or 15 min after the computer starts up, and it happens even while I do something with it... so I don't think the computer tries to hibernate... but I can try the hotfix, and see if it helps

I have just installed the hotfix... and will time it, to see if it breaks down again

    Thanks guys :)
