    Hi guys,
I'm thinking to get this laptop, but I haven't heard much about cooling system. I generally don't play games (the videocard is a pity with me), but the flatpanel seems to be very good as well as the other components and the pricing.

I've read on a french review that the laptop is quite quiet, but what about the heat and cooling system?

I would like to put it on my laps (just for normal surfing with wifi, so usage will be minimal), but I'm a bit afraid to get burnt seen the total power of the machine, which is impressing.

Seems well promising even though probably it has too much power for me - need to say that for the same money you don't get any better.

P.S.: if I don't choose to put the tv tuner mini-pci, can I install it later?

    Regards,
    Fabio

I dont know about the exact temp on the buttom of the laptop running under full load. But i dont think it would be very comfitable.
But with normal use (browser, office app. ect.) dont think it would be a problem with too much heat.

But in general, i wouldnt recommend using the laptop on your lap, or any cloth surface like the bed or on a blacket.
Dust is a big concern for me, so i tend to be cautious.
I use my 6615wd on my desk, or if im sitting in a chair or lying in bed, i put a flat plastic serving tray underneath to let breath.

The air intake is underneath and the exhaust is on the side.

Regarding the noise, it does make some. When idle there is a very slight hiss, and with small regular intervals a slightly louder hissing. But it is a notisable sound.
Under load the fan is working a bit harder, and the "louder" hissing a more or less constant.

By loud i dont mean its annoying to listen to. I dont really notis it when i am playing. For a good gaming laptop its very low noise, but its not at all silent.

I guess its a subjective view... and im rambling on and on here i think hehe. Moving on.

As far as i know, you can only install the tv tuner on windows media center ed. and not windows xp home/pro. I dont know why this is, it seens odd to me.
But if you get WMC, you sould be able too add it later.

I know much of the post is based on my personal view, and that there is no real facts to look at. But i hope its helpfull non the less.

    Cheers

I agree that using a notebook on your lap is not recommended. If you can put it on a laptop pad or something (hard surface), it will keep you from blocking the air intakes.

I believe the MCE is needed for remote control compatibility. You should be able to install one post-purchase but I would ask Zepto directly about that if you're unsure.

I'm really wondering if a 6015 would be really cooler than a 6615. And also, I don't know really if my eyes would get tired watching a 1680x1050 resolution. Actually I use 1400x1050 on a 14" (Latitude D600), and apart from the screen quality which IMO leaves much to desire, it really looks tiny.

A 1680x1050 is going to be the same resolution, but with some pixels added to the horizontal access to make it a widescreen aspect. But, since you're on a slightly larger screen, it will enlarge everything somewhat.

I have a 15.4" WSXGA+ screen and can see how the text in some situations would be too small for some people. You can generally adjust desktop and text sizes, but there are some situations where you get what you get.
