I'm interested in buying one of these two for uni. I will be playing games such as Oblivion and Medieval 2 Total War (when it comes out) casually. I just wanted to ask if the extra 256Mb on the 6615WD's Go 7600 would make much of a difference to the performance of games like Oblivion? Should I go with the 2425W instead (in my customization they both have the same specs and the 2425 is about £60 cheaper)? Also I was briefly considering the 6214W as well, but the 14" screen put me off for gaming. Does that extra 1.4" really make a difference?

The graphic card on 2425w is underclocked, so the 6615 is more powerful in 3d apps.

yeh it is definatly worth getting the 6615wd as it isnt underclocked like the 2425w.
If you are going to move the laptop around i would get the 6214w. I have just changed from a 15.4 to a 14 and i dont really mind at all. But i find it more portable and in terms of power and size 14" laptops are the sweetspot as you dont find 15.4" laptops with a GPU more powerful than a 7600 which you can find in a 6214w.
If its desk bound though get the bigger one. -

Hows your 6214 turning out grouse, getting one of those probably when my money comes through. Does it perform well in games, as its not underclocked like the 2425?

Well the only two demanding games i been playing are BF2 and css. Both of which run fine on high settings even though the 512mb version of the 7600 has some driver issues with BF2-it works with lighting on low. I will be getting COD2 to test the thing soon so will let you know how it goes.
Otherwise im very pleased: its quick, lite well made and small. Also makes the asus options look like rip offs!
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this beast to anyone.
