6615WD with Merom on the way!

Ok, yesterday I ordered a 6615WD with the new Core 2 Duo T5600 2Ghz with 4Mb Cache . It should arrive on the 9th September, so around that time I will post some of my thoughts on it. The rest of the specs are as follows...

2Gb RAM
GO 7600 512Mb
80Gb Hard Drive 7200RPM
15.4" Screen

 

ok, i'm very annoyed. The laptop that should have arrived on saturday didn't. I phoned up, they said i should have it by today. I phoned them up this morning to verify this, alas, they are still waiting for parts and they promise it will be here for next monday. I really need this laptop before i go to uni on the 24th, so if it doesn't arrive by monday i may have to shop someplace else for a different laptop

 

I've finally got it, and altho i'm still not convinced that zepto have done all they could to get the machine to me on time, i'm very impressed with it. I'm also very annoyed by the fact that they don't send a manual.

The proc is as fast as hell, the screen is exceptionally sharp an there is no pixel leakage. It's very quiet, i barely heard it while my room was dead silent. The gpu is fantastic, it's playing Oblivion fine on medium-high settings. I can understand why some people would moan about the touchpad being made of the same material as the surrounding area but that doesn't bother me much as i will be using an optical mouse most of the time. Heat-wise, there is some by where the hard drive s, but thats to be expected. It's light for a machine of this size and power. All in all, a great value laptop!
