So maybe someone can shed some light on this. I already have to RMA my 6615WD because, although I have been extremely pleased with this laptop since I got it in January, I noticed that my processor is reporting temps of 50-60 Celsius while idling, and the fans are always on and way louder than the 6615WD which I ordered for a friend of mine. But thats another issue entirely.
My problem is that for some reason, the entire sleep/hibernate system works horribly with Vista Ultimate. I have a dual-boot setup with XP Pro and Vista Ultimate, under XP I haven't had any sleep problems, just close the lid and it sleeps, open the lid and press something, it wakes up. But with Vista nothing works. The screen and HDD power down, but can never be woken up. A hard reboot is needed. I have been searching all over the web for answers, have found many tutorials which address all the different Vista-internal issues which can be modified in some way, I have downloaded ALL related updates, and still the sleep/hibernate functions don't work.
At the command prompt, entering powercfg -a gives me this message:
The following sleep states are available on this system:
    Standby <S3>
The following sleep states are not available on this system:
    Standby <S1>
    Standby <S2>

I have noticed that many of these tutorials and troubleshooting guides mention going into the BIOS and activating the different sleep states or turning ACPI on or off. However a thorough check of the Z1.09 BIOS shows nothing related to Power Management.

SO basically what I'm assuming is that the BIOS isn't really Vista compatible (on the first screen, there is an option to choose OS, with Windows 95, XP, 2000 being options, but Vista nowhere to be found.)
Am I right? Could someone from Zepto respond to my accusation?
I mean, I love this baby with XP, (except for one thing, the webcam works very sporadically) but who wants to leave their laptop on all the time???

Vista has had all sorts of sleep / hibernation bugs. My own hibernation problem went away after I installed a set of fixes published on 1st October.

Does your problem fit the description of Microsoft KB928135? If so, ask Microsoft to send you the hotfix.

I see that there's another set of updates issued on 23 October.

Thanks for the quick reply, John.
Unfortunately, my problems so far are all related to "sleep" (standby) mode. I haven't even begun to deal with Hibernation.

As I said before, I have all related updates and hotfixes installed.

    Thanks anyway.

    Anyone else??

I had similiar problems, tough not the same, and It got fixed for me by cleaning the registry and temporary files with a software called Ashampoo Winoptimizer and just waiting lol

Once again, thanks for the reply, but how cleaning the registry and Vista's buggy sleep/hibernate mode have anything to do with one another is beyond me. And I already use CCleaner, Ashampoo, Registry Mechanic and Tuneup Utilities anyway. But as I said, these issues are completely unrelated.

I would like an answer from Zepto as to why the current BIOS doesnt have any options related to Powersaving modes, as most other Phoenix BIOSes do!

Thanks Berserk, nice searching! You also have a 6615, are you running Vista? I'm gonna try flashing back to z1.07 and see if that helps any, but isn't the point of BIOS updates to add/fix compatability issues?? We all knew Vista was on the way; why hasnt Zepto made compatible BIOS versions available??

BIOS updates do fix bugs and compatibility issues, give you more options (sometimes) but it often includes new bugs/compatibility problems (as with all other programs, just BIOS has a little better stability than normal software, but its not bugless)
