    Hey everybody
I´ve got an 6625wd, the problem fist appeared a month ago. Until then the DVD drive (Tss corp SN-S082H) functioned flawlessly.
What did I do? Well, I´ve got Vista 32 bit, but wanted to install the 64 bit version as well (RAM upgrade, 4 Gb). So, I did it, then found out the DVD drive wouldn´t appear in the drive list (Vista 64), so I disabled it in BIOS (another forum´s hint) and it finally appeared (Vista 64), seemed to be working at that time, though I can´t say since I didn´t try burning anything.
Got rid of Vista 64 the same day and decided to go for an XP installation instead (dual boot with Vista 32)(Im sorta gamer), so I activated the DVD in BIOS.
Now, the drive reads cds and dvds just ok, but burning results in blank media. I tried using different medias (Tevion, Verbatim, Sony and stuff), different software (Nero, alcohol, the ´´easy´´ bundle, the Windows burner etc), formatted my primary partition, installed Vista 32 bit again, then the XP, all the drivers for both of them, but, nada.
The logs say everything´s run well, no error messages, nothing, logs are always pretty pictures, Nero always says burning´s been successful, but when I put it back in, the media is blank as if nothing´s been burnt.
The same happens no matter if it´s Vista or XP, so I guess a software issue´s not an option here. On other hand the only thing I did was to disable and then enable the drive in BIOS, so what might it be then?
Any ideas´re gonna be appreciated, thanks guys

Hm, anything to do with the dual boot? Doesn´t really seem quite likely to me, but could that be the case?

A weird problem. We need to sort out whether or not it is actually burning or just won't read a burnt disc.

    1. Are you using the verify option in Nero to check the burning? Or have you tried reading a "burnt" disc in another computer?

    2. You can usually see if there has been burning by looking at the shiny side of the disc (slightly different colour / less shiny).

    3. Does Nero's InfoTool show all the expected functionality.

Well, actually the burning itself goes without a hitch, but if I use the verify option it gets stuck (after seemingly successful burn). That doesn´t really come as a surprise, since no data´s been burnt to be verified.
I tried that yes, on my roomie´s notebook, but it won´t read any of my discs (it does, but they apear blank again). Normally the burnt area is visible pretty well, but all my ´´burnt´´ disks are without any signs of actual burning, just the same as if straight out of the box. It´s almost as if the laser beam´s been switched off during the burning, only if there was any issue with the optics, the drive wouldn´t be able to read any media, would it?
    I don´t think I´ve got it (Nero´s Infotool), I´m using Nero portable

you call this weird? Heh, here comes the really odd part. How about this - the drive seems to have no problems at all when burning something on a multisession disk, if something´s already been burnt on a dvd and if it´s a multisession media, the burner works just fine. Found it out just now. The problem I have seems to affect only blank disks
Unfortunately, I´ve run out of ideas already, wish I knew what´s wrong with the d/n thing
