    Hi!

Recently I got a new problem with my 6625. About 50% of the times I put it inte hibernation(is that the english word?) or shut it down it starts right up again without me doing anything. Most of the times it seems to be completely off for two seconds (the fans and lights are turned off) but then it comes back to life. Quite annoying.

Also, everytime I start it up (not from hibernation/sleep though) it runs a test of the hard drive. It says the disk needs a inconsistency check. I ran the hard drive test from zeptos ftp but found nothing. Does anyone know how to solve this? Zepto suggested re-installing Vista but I'd really like to avoid that.

    Any ideas?

I had problems a bit like you, put the laptop in hibernate, closed it and put it in my laptop bag.
What it then did was restart on its own causing it to nearly overheat...

my solution: try the correct video drivers, some might cause standby and hibernate to malfunction

Ye, when I think about it it started right after I installed 175.80. I found them on zepots ftp, so I thought they would be alright. Maybe changing them will fix the problem. Too bad they work perfectly in every other aspect =(

Beware of the USB-disconnect while hibernating (and after hibernation). Certain devices resume the system if plugged out after a certain point while hibernating or after successful power down. For me, unplugging mouse and usb headset resumes the system, but not my Ext.hdd thats powered off 2 USB ports. Only thing wich helps against this is to unplug the devices right after you hit the hibernate button in windows, or plugging em all out and hitting the power button for 5 secs while still in the BIOS screens (to keep the session unedited)

Last year I had the same problem with my Zepto 6024W.

By chance I reinstalled the Intel Matrix Storage Driver and found that it fixed the restart after hibernation problem.

Thanks for the answers. I really think it is the driver, but I might try reinstalling the Intel Matrix Storage Driver. Except I have no clue on earth what that is =D Would you mind explaining?

Anyway, do you guys have any ideas about the hard drive issue?

    1. Visit Intel for the Matrix Storage Manager software. Reinstalling it fixed a similar problem for me (see previous post). It may only be relevant if AHCI is enabled in the BIOS. AHCI is needed to be able to use Turbo Memory 9do you have Turbo Memory?).

    2. As for the hard disk, I wonder if it is a filing system problem. The hardware tests suggest the drive is physically OK. This advice on using chkdsk might fix it.
