As I said I will remove ntune and let you know if I find it helps in my particular case. Just a thought and at the moment everything is worth looking at - as Zepto don't seem to be able to offer anything that works.

    Guys, I could kiss you!
As unlikely as it previously seemed, that standby thing really works, even on my G1-S.

I must admit I have not extensively tested it yet but half an hour of UT3 before and after sleep mode seemed to make it quite clear that this "fix" did it for me.

I'd still like to see those Asus and Zepto folks fixing that mess. At least the Zepto guys have somebody on here that seems to care but Asus customer support has been telling people to use manufacturer drivers and lower their resolutions ever since. I mean, seriously...

Dammit, I'll have to add that the standby-workaround does not work every single time. I'll have to have a closer look at when it doesn't work but it definitely won't always help.

What are your experiences with this so far?

The temperature limit has always increased when I have used the sleep-fix

    Exactly!

I don't even feel any difference with sleepfix anymore. the stutter comes within an hour anyway so why bother. When I play I play for atleast four hours straight, so the sleepfix may help my game to keep the stable 60 fps for another 10 minutes. But 10 extra minutes with 60 fps of 240+ minutes of gameplay.... well... I don't bother anymore to set the laptop to sleep.

You see, the funny thing is that (at least on my rig) the sleep fix enables me to perfectly play UT3 at ~95°C but ETQW has that stuttering regardless of the temperature, WoW as well. They both stutter at 88°C as well as at 95°C.

Btw. I put things under the fett of my notebook to aid airflow and it does harday exceed the high 90s now.

hi people, I can't get the sleepfix to work, it still goes up to 96 degrees max, not 110. I tried 17x.xx and 169.61 drivers too. I am using xp sp3, what are your specs for sleep fix?

I have used the sleep-fix with both Xp sp2 and Vista.
I think it's bios "feature", but can't explain why it doesn't work with your system

the thing I noticed is that the fan is not working at full power. When I boot the laptop it gets really loud then winds down and while I am gaming and the temp of the core is at 96 it still is not as loud as the booting time, indicating that it does not work at full power.

That is somthing raised before and hopfully somthing that zepto is working on as in my opinion the fan should go max when temp hits 90 and stay full until temp is down to 80 before kicking down.... Hopfully they will fix this.

I downgraded to bios xxxx04 and now the max temp is 110. in WOW it goes up to 99 and never stutters with sleepfix! my dpc latencies are high but I can live with that. still, I am extremely disappointed with zepto.
