My 12-day wait has been done now, and the mailman's happily hauling my new Zepto 6615WD to my place some time tomorrow afternoon. Now, the question is, does anyone have a clue if the thing comes with the new(est) BIOS version, or do I need to update it?

Would it be preferable, if needed, to update the BIOS before installing OS? I've got this old thing here, so it's not much trouble putting down the .ISO on a CD and working it through, right? Haven't done a BIOS update since this one came in, and that's almost three years ago, so my memory is fumbling.

    Thanks!

Congratulations on the purchase of the 6615WD. I've had mine for about a month now & it's fantastic!

As far as the BiOS upgrade goes (& this is just my own opinion here) i just left mine with the BiOS that came with the Laptop & installed the OS's (XP & Ubuntu Edgy). No problems at all, everything seems to work fine, although there are certain pieces of software that came with the machine that i don't use (Bluetooth for instance).

So i would give that a go, and see how you get on. Why change the BiOS unless you need to, or there's a critical fix that needs applying. You could be asking for problems just by flashing the BiOS (It has been known) when it will work fine as it is.

Anyway, i hope it all goes well & you're more than delighted with this excellent machine..... i know that i am. :)
