I was recently given a Znote 6615WD notebook by my Danish friend. I wonder wether there is still anybody out there who has experience of this machine?

My problem is that when I have entered setup (F2) and choose the DVD-drive as the primary (and only) alternative, save that (F10), and exit, the machine does not boot from the Windows 7 installation disk although it is in the drive and it attempts to read.

I then get ' No OS detected' or some such error message.

There is nothing wrong with either the drive (it reads discs OK when running normally) or the disc; it's a known good disc.

I am thankful for any and all tips. :)
    Thank you.

Try to burn the disk as an ISO onto a USB and go from there, bootable W7 USB installation :)

Otherwise I'd say the disk is missing some essential files that make it unable to find the installation files necessary to even enter DOS in the beginning.
