Nice option for a proper 8-core ultrabook. Could be awesome running linux. Any idea if it has Thunderbolt 3, given that the Type-C port has the Thunderbolt picture on it in that shot? Is this chassis made by Tongfang?

Nope, it is not proper Thunderbolt 3 icon.
It just symbolise what you can charge laptop via USB-C.

We will not see any AMD laptop with TB3.
Only USB 4 will give us that functionality in AMD laptops.

When XMG makes the move to come out with VIA15Pro, from U.S. side, Eluktronics may probably make the announcement soon on their version.

with ur quote on the TongFang model reference,
i come across another offering of the same build with Ubuntu based OS system from Netherlands.

    https://laptopwithlinux.com/product/tongfang-pf5nu1g-amd-linux-laptop/

Priced more competitively than Tuxedo Computer from Germany,
with same specification of configuration, u could save more than 50euros and get a OS backup ThumbDrive for free
if u're ordering from Europe and deliver to any place in Europe.
However, i notice than VAT was not removed to those ordering from overseas upon checkout.
No idea if that's a ordering system bug that they had failed to detect...

I think i may have missed another OEM from Europe
that have their notebooks in this build... SLIMBOOK from Spain.
which comes in 2 flavors of branding on the LED screen LID COVERs
    [IMG] [IMG]
    https://slimbook.es/en/store/slimbook-pro-x-15/pro-x-15-amd-comprar
    https://slimbook.es/en/store/slimbook-kde/kde-slimbook-15-comprar
Both are Ubuntu OS based. With exception of SlimBook Pro offering alternate flavors of Ubuntu OS
and Manjaro Arch Linux, as well as Windows StandAlone or DualBoot installation options.

Pricing wise, in terms of competitiveness, i would say SlimBook is priced very close to 1000euro mark
with the default OEM choice of the highest level in H-series CPU that TongFang can offer.

The most budget friendly offering goes to LWL: Laptops-With-Linux with buyer's
choice of going barebone system without OS, Storage, and Memory. Such that buyers can source their own
with the kind of pricing on SSD and RAM depending on where they're from with much savings depending
    on their local market pricing!

If you are able to change the title of this thread to include the Tongfang model number I think this could develop as a "mega thread" for all the different versions of the same chassis - see for example this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...element-fusion-15-mag-15-vapor-15-pro.830272/

then everyone with the same chassis can discuss within the same discussion thread?

Merging 2 threads into 1 mega thread is certainly good. However, I foresee that mega bickering between RED Camp and Blue Camp users will happen as well. Each side have their trust on the performance of the hearts they adopt...
If i can suggest... i would suggest moderators to change this thread title to " AMD heart in
TongFang QC7 Chasis (INTEL based build of Element/Fusion 15/MAG-15/Vapor 15 Pro)" make the same change to the other thread as well to "
Intel heart in TongFang QC7 Chasis(AMD based build of VIA15Pro/THINN-15 and others...)
    "

I updated the thread title with the various models of the P5FNU1G we know about. Hopefully it is less confusing.

I will have my hands on both the TongFang PF5NU1G with the Ryzen 5 4600U and the PF5MRFG with the Intel Core i7 10750H and the GTX 1650 Ti next week, anything you people would be interested in knowing?

on the non GPU related scores in benchmarking, Ryzen 5 4600H is a direct competitor and threat to i7. This thru numbers of online video benchmarkings had been compared over and over again that will continue to boost more supports to the AMD side...

on the GPU related scores in benchmarkings, the i7 system will have a certain win of score over the Ryzen 5.

with the existence of a dGPU, whatever system will show significant consumption of power from the juiced up battery. Hence... it'll be unfair to the Intel side even if the battery size will be the same to both systems*.
(Although i know... it's not really the beefy 90whr batt that's embedded in the AMD system...)

I think the only part where u can compare on, the screen qualities, the keyboard experience, if u can disable the Nvidia GPU just by benchmarking both on CPU and iGPU only... that would be a "well" comparison.

    Hey,

I assume that both units I will receive come with the same 100% sRGB display, so I might not really be able to compare them directly. But I guess different vendors use different displays anyway. :D

Both actually should have the 91Wh battery, even the non-dGPU AMD 4600H unit. I will certainly check it, but that is what it says on my order. So I expect the AMD-unit to last quite a while!
