I am interested in hearing from others who have moved to the 6200 with the Athlon 64 chip.
Other than the drawbacks which include lack of an internal card reader and firewire, this looks very nice and felt very speedy when testing it at a local CC.

I haven't used one fore an extended period of time, but this is now my favorite value power machine. I think it eclipses eMachines for that title.

Hi I just bought the new Averatec 6200 with AMD 64k bit chip with some trepidation simply because I don't know the company well. I keep reading this model skimped on computing power to give dvd viewing capabilities. I am hoping this is applicable to the previous versoin before they upgraded to the 64 bit chip. I'm still thinking of trading for a HP, a company I know, however, so far so good. I like the look, the lightweight. I wish it had all-in-one and firewire. But to get the chip, which I'm assuming is good (please confirm), DVD r/w, and 15.4" for $999, can I go wrong? Anyone think this sucks?
