I am about to buy the following config of the 6625WD model after seeing the £89 discount:

    160GB SATA 2,5" 5400RPM - SAMSUNG
    Keyboard Znote 6x15W Black UK
    SAMSUNG DVD-RW DL
    15,4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050 - 6625WD
    6 Cell Battery
    NVIDIA® Geforce 8600M GT
    Online Discount UK-4
    2048MB (2x1024) DDR2 800/PC6400 SODIMM
    Intel Pro/Wireless 4965AGN
    Intel® Turbo Memory 1GB
    2.00 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo T7300 800MHz
    Microsoft® Windows® Vista Home Premium - UK

the questions I have are as follows:

    1) In the pictures of the 6625WD the keyboard is white, however in the config it says it is black...?

    2) As far as performance is concerned, I definitely want 2GB of RAM, but is the 800 SODIMM worth the extra £50 quid over the 667? I ask because to upgrade to the T7500 2.2GHz processor is only £60 which I may consider doing instead of the RAM upgrade.

    3) Lastly, the zepto video on the homepage mentions that the top lid of the notebooks can be customised with pictures, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of this going through all the configuration and extras.

Thanks to anyone with any information or comments, Gareth

As far as I know, the 800MHz RAM will only run at 667MHz and at the same speed as normal 667MHz RAM. Here's a CPU-Z report from this thread about the 6224W. Same RAM.

I recall reading that the lid customisation isn't currently being offered because of the additional delay in production.

thanks for that info on the RAM, not being a massive gamer I doubt it matters too much, just looking to get the best spec. for the money. The customisation thing also isn't a big problem, and I would rather have the laptop asap because I go to university in just over a month. The website currently says 11 days for delivery, is this optimistic considering the delays you have mentioned?

The Zepto delivery estimates seem to be pretty good. Are there any components which show as not in stock (yellow blob at right) when you do the configuration? If everything is in stock then it's just a matter of the queue for assembly. If something isn't in stock then Zepto will be using the forecast delivery of when stock would arrive.

I struck lucky a month ago and ordered on a Thursday pm, it was sent out on the Monday pm and reached me on Tuesday pm: 5 days including the weekend. However, 2 days is the more normal delivery period.

Because they have problems with the delivery-time of the covers!
Not Zepto, but the company that made those covers! They are looking
for a new one, that will made them, so they have several test-covers made!

If they have found a new company, the cover-customize option will be back!

Hey, I ordered my zepto 6625wd and I called them up to ask when it will reach me, they said they have sent it out today and will be here Monday or Tuesday so I will let you know about the keyboard then.

Other then that I think by black it means the letters are black but the keys are white, since when you click on each component like processor, harddrive, keyboard they give you a picture of what the component looks like, so if you look at what the keyboard looks like, it is white with the text in black.

Good news. I don't think that Zepto automatically send out shipping notifications. If you got a tracking number then by tomorrow you should be able to track your shipment through the TNT system. In my case there was no tracking entry between leaving Copenhagen and arrival at the Milton (Didcot) depot at lunch time next day.

When did you order and how does the actual timing compare with the forecast?

I ordered mine from uk.zepto.com and I didnt get any tracking number or anything of the sort. I just called the sales department yesterday to ask if it was possible to track my order and they said yea sure, just give me your name that you used when paying online, so i did and they said yea your laptop was waiting for the hard drive to get into stock (since the one i selected had a yellow icon next to it) and its in stock today so we will build it today and have it sent tomorow night and you will recieve it Monday or Tuesday max.

As for the forecast thing it said up to 7 days (dont know if its including weekends or just workdays). I ordered it on the 13th of this month, if I get it Monday the timing is spot on if Tuesday then its off by one day so its fine, that is if it was 7 days, but if it is 7 working days then its going to be early.

I just really hope they put everything in my laptop like they dont forget to put in the wireless card or something lol

UK build and delivery time is only a few days as long as all components are in stock. The system that gives us tracking numbers wasnt working last week.
