Hello... as the title states I'm a click away from purchasing the Zepto Nox A14 laptop. I am new to NBR and I've only had time to read a few threads that had some info on the A14. So this thread is just for me to gather some last minute info on this laptop to help me decide if I should go ahead with the purchase.
For those who are familiar with this laptop or Zepto laptops in general, could you guys please post any information that I should be aware of or, if you want, feel free to post some positive things to help me along with the purchase. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Since you're in canada, make sure you use zeptoUSA and not zepto international.
-
www.zeptocanada.com or just www.zeptousa.com doesn't matter.... The only difference is currency.
-
Yeah, I am using Zepto Canada already
. Question though, where will my system be built exactly (Denmark, USA, Canada)? Also, I noticed the paypal link on the site is only for zeptousa so, is this the right link or is there a paypal link for zeptocanada? Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken your computer would go through two assembly lines, both in denmark and in the us.
-
1) It is correct you'll get a payment link from Zepto USA. This because we handle almost everything for our resellers. Even the payments.
2) All orders from the US and Canada will be assembled in the US. At this moment we don't have an assembly line in Canada.
you might be wondering why we handle that if we have resellers. Because we want to make sure everything is handled well, so that we don't get the issues Europe is facing. -
Thanks for the reply, that's good to hear.
I just purchased it with the following configurations:
* WXGA+ 1440x900 + NVIDIA® 9650M GT 512MB GDDR3
* Core2 Duo P8600 2,40GHz 1066MHz 3MB
* 4 GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC6400 800MHZ
* 320GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk
* No Operating System
* Intel 802.11A B G draft-N1 4965AGN Wireless
* DVD-RW / CD-RW SATA
* 6 Cell Nox/Orion black
* Built-in Bluetooth® 2.0 EDR
* Built-in webcam 2.0 megapixel
* Built-in digital microphone
* Fingerprint Reader
Order status is in processing, hopefully I can get an estimate on how long I can expect to wait for my laptop to arrive.

Boo...
Just received an email from Zepto - "WAITING FOR 9650GT CARDS. estimated delivery 2-20-09" ..
Looks like I'm going to be waiting a long long time, which I kinda expected :\. -
Well at least your getting an email. Some people just had to wait without any notification.
-
So I've read.. That is quite unfortunate.
For me, I've dealt with Zepto Canada over the phone and emails and Zepto USA with payment and order status. I've called Zepto Canada a few times where they have missed my calls but, returned them as soon as they could even without me having to leave a message. And they always got back to my emails within 24 hours or less. -
Nice to hear that they are quick on support over there!
Why don't you order a 9600 GT instead? Not much of a difference... -
With the latest drivers it gives a boost about 12%...
so we can't speak of that non-difference anymore -
The last 3d mark test I did has the 9650 card over 6000
It is worth it for some games. They are hard to get a hold of right now though.
-
Yeah, from what I've gathered from reading multiple sources, the difference between 9600GT and the 9650GT is 12% to 20%.
Hey Dave, I have a few minor questions about my order, could I maybe PM you some time if its okay with you? -

We aren't talking about Zepto on the other side of the World ;-)
About to purchase a Zepto Nox A14...
