Hi everyone![]()
I recently deleted a few programmes from my laptop (Advent 7094) and now when I insert a disc into the CD drive it says "no CD or DVD burner has been detected." My brother thinks I've somehow managed to delete the CD and DVD driver. Can anyone point me to a website or somewhere where I can download the drivers for it??
(Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I don't have a clue when it comes to computers)
Thank you

There is no special drivers for the optical drive.
I would start by going into Device Manager and uninstalling the IDE channels under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and then rebooting. This should fix any driver problem since the optical drive will be redetected when the IDE channels are reinstalled.
Next I would study this Microsoft support page.
By the way, the support page for your notebook is at PC World.
