I posted a thread earlier today asking what laptops are great. One user reccomended that I buy a zepta nox a14 or a15... However, after seeing the problems of this board... I'm kinda skeptical about the quality of these machines...

Seems expensive for what it is.. granted its smaller. for a powerful laptop, you cant really expect to get something small without sacrificing build quality..

I'm head over heels with the Asus G50vt-a1, which looks to me as being cheaper, and contains a 9800m GS, which blows the graphics on the Nox away. granted it weighs more and is larger, your getting a much better build quality, and warranty. not to mention its a brand i've heard of.. (though that could just be an aussie thing).

id suggest just sticking with a dell, or a hp or something, i'm sure you can get them in a small size, with better customer service, and equal components.

Nothing in the zepto nox looks overly brilliant, cept the ram capacity.

I got a Nox. The build quality is very high on the machines.
Do you want to be more specific than just "skeptical" ?

The new live chat system appears to have improved the ability to get in touch with them.

@ Monchan: Why starting a topic again about blabla'ing Zepto..
You can read all the topics about the warranty / quality and so on?

I'm so getting sick of all those unneed topics.. tfoe

I have had no issues on my end with build quality. The ones I sell get put together by me :)

The only issue I've had with build quality is the amount of heatsink paste used on the GPU-Way too much. Other than that there really is not difference in the quality of build between this and the Dell 6400 I had before. (I never took the GPU's heatsink off of the Dell so can't tell you if the paste was better :) )

Out of curiosity Dave, what level of assembly do you have to do on the notebooks you sell? What do you receive from Zepto HQ? I'm still looking forward to the day I can purchase my A14.

Zeptos's arrive with no CPU, ram, wireless, HDD, cd/dvd rom, cooling system not installed for obvious reasons and sometimes no GPU.

First thing I do is remove the factory applied thermo grease :)

The excess amount of grease is something that Zepto is looking at. They are aware that this is adding to some heat issues. One thing to remember a clean unit with no obstructions to the cooling vents rarely ever has a heat issue.

I wanted to clarify a little on this after thinking about it. This was more of an issue with older models and less so with the newer models. The primary issue is sometimes too much grease on the GPU. Since the older models had a 85c GPU idle any extra build up of thermo grease could cause a heat issue. The cooling is much better on the Nox units.
