Not sure why everyone is saying AW price is cheaper.
When I spec'd the same system at AW that I got from RKC, the "drive out" cost with tax and shipping was over $100 more for the AW with a T9400 instead of the P9500 processor.
Maybe people are considering discounts or aftermarkets that I am not considering, but it seems comparable at worst.
Also, isn't there an OC function directly in the OCZ bios? Wouldn't AW disable that since typically OCing voids the warranty?
That being said, the rubberized skull cap lid does look nice![]()

Your getting a special design, a sweet keyboard and the reassurance that the company you brought from will be around for quite some while for that extra $100. You never know with small resellers (coughhybridgear).
****, that keyboard looks sick -
Well, for Canada, AW is definitely the best deal.
-
-
I have my question
OCZ EXTREME or AW m17 support ram 8G ? -
Mark supports 8Gigs of ram. in the Nagamaki dont know about other suppliers.
-
All models of it support 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SoDIMM RAM.
-
What mhooper means is that Mark is pretty much the only one offering it with 8GB
-
I believe RK Was offering last time I looked. Also, AW. I could be wrong. But, there's no need for it unless you're turning your laptop into a server. Which, is doubtful. Otherwise, it's just to have a bigger e-peen.
-
Nope, AW dont offer it.
I feel generous..... heres +rep for all of ya -
Well..nothing wrong with spreading love.. +rep fairy blesses you.

aw:

lower spec, lower difference...
also i am not buying my config with OS, I preffer no OS, no any other software option... -
$2,149.00 +100$ shippement +tax around 200$
-
ok... but if you wan't to max out your config... difference is considerable...
-
Online shoppers are notorious tax cheats.
-
if you choose ground shipping it cost only 20$ from rkcomputer and you haven't to pay for tax anyway (except you stay in NY). I think RJTech may in the same way
-
I think if people like the style and don't mind the wait, then AW is fine, but I don't see it as cheaper. I also think the modifications and personal support of the good builders also has value over AW. -
I was planning to buy from RKC, but my brother is from Brooklyn, NY. Tax was a deal breaker for me... so i'll go with rjtech.
OCZ is with backlit keyboard by default? -
It should be backlit on all of them but you should call RJTech first to make sure.
Alienware uses their own keyboard....the same one as on the m17x Area-51. Same colors but different font and a border around the keys. -
i will check it with rjtech... anyway my story is a bit crazy... i've started with hp hdx 16/18, then got interested in sager/clevo and most probably in the end i'll go with ocz
))))
i am aware of aw keyboard, case...
thanx -
Each of these laptops in my sig have come and gone - and now the xps 730 Q9450 with Dual 3870- that I thought I was going to stick with im - i'm not sticking with anymore. It's 70 lb beast is what it is.
With my lifestyle I would much rather a portable power system/ That's why i'm sticking with the Nagamaki! -
Who what crazy?
-
you should see my story.... Apple - Asus - Dell - HP - Sager - Asus - Alienware - HP - Asus - Acer - HP - Sager - Sager - OCZ - OCZ - OCZ - HP - Dell - Acer STOP.
Thats the order of laptop brands i considered, then changed my mind. -
Qaz go buy the Nagamaki and stop letting your brain get in the way.
-
Considered or bought like my sig?
