This is an stupid (but curious) question. So. Why the 9-cell battery in xFL90/FL91/xx92 excels 1-2 centímetres? and Why it not happens in any other model (from Compal or any other vendor).

    Thanks,

there are plenty of notebooks that have battery pack sticking out the back

it just creates more room inside the case for other components and better air flow

You can always use 6 cell for portability, I always have to take mien out to carry it in the backpack. I do see one here from HGL30 6cell being sold down here, a think it should fit fine.

I know the 6 cell from my HEL81 works in my IFL90 in place of the 9 cell.

I'm with jcovelli, once you remove the battery, the laptop fit in many bags, the battery can always be packed separetely.

Also since all the connectors moved to the sides, then I guess we could have made all equal in the back, but why to spend money in extra unuseful material?

What unuseful material? Anyway my ifl90 fits snugly in my 17" tucano sleeve. And I find the battery sticking out useful when holding it. ^^

Well most laptops have the lock and the vent behind.... I'm not sure they could have put those somewhere else...

Wirelessman worte --> I'm with jcovelli, once you remove the battery, the laptop fit in many bags...

So I can carry my notebook in a 15.4" bag with the battery mounted on laptop. I don't have any "spacial" problem with it.

Wirelessman, what concrectly indicated the blue circles on you attatchment?

The Compal Casing for the notebook isn't designed to hold the 9 cell complete inside the housing.

What I'm saying is that they could have extended the back to be flush with the battery length, but they didn't because is unecesary, plus they save money.

Something even simpler would have been design the battery like the extended hp battery, basically make it thicker.

Yeah, so now the battery would be flush with the back, but it would lift the back a little, which is not a bad idea becuase that would make air circulate and cool off the laptop, hummmm, you should patent the idea.

Maybe they are keeping that idea for a hypothetical extended battery ^^.
