I was wondering on hows the GL30 holding on heat?

i was thinking of getting the GL30(14 inch monitor) with a 7600 geforce video card, but i'm a bit concerned about heat issues with the enclosure/fans/etc. i've read something about macbooks with the radeon x1600 (i think its the x1600) that has the video card underclocked by 20% in order for the macbook to not overheat.

will the GL30 work well with the 7600? i'm current trying to decide between the GL30 and getting the rest of the parts myself, or getting a dell with something like a 30% coupon (20% coupon plus student discounts)

This has been discussed at lenght in this forum already (probalby why you didn't get any replies until now).

The HGL30 runs very cool and quiet, and the 7600 plays your games very well.

macs are a special exception.. if you ever handled one.. they are incredibly thin notebooks. in addition, there's very few vents. the bottom of the chassis is smooth and there are no vents there or on the sides.. its primarily in the back and through the keyboard. as a result heat will definitely noticeable.. its like that on the regular macbook, and worse on the macbook pro with its x1600.
