    Any word on the next UX

    I would like to buy a laptop in the next month or so. I want something with a long battery life so I am leaning towards a UX or the P7120D. Is there a new version of the UX (maybe the SX) coming out soon - I don't want to buy something and then one week later the newer version come out. If the newer version is 3 months away or more away I will probably end up going with the UX.

    I have also been waiting, previous threads stated they are waiting for the new core duo's from asus. I would love to get an update. Have been holding off from buying the W3j and sony SZ hoping P1 comes out with something with the trans reflective screen. I need to use my laptop outside and hear that screen is perfect. Don't know how long I can wait.

    Last I heard is that the SX will be out in May. The delay is due to Asus delaying delivery of their Z35f (on which the SX is built) to the US market.

    A conservative guess of when you can have your hands on one would be late May. For Asus to deliver to P1, and then P1 builds and tests units and start shipping out.

    The few inquiries I've made have been replied to as "this month". But checking the calendar I see it's the 22nd already and still no new models. qwester's info is probably more accurate, though, as it's been at least a couple of weeks since I emailed Ivan.

    I was wondering this myself since a friend just asked me about buying one. For what my opinion is worth, I can say that it is worth waiting for that transreflective screen. I had the opportunity to compare it side by side to a Fujitsu CV, which many seem to tout as the best screen on the market (and it is an excellent screen, just the rest of the notebook left something to be desired reliability and durability-wise) and I can honestly say the transreflective screen was better hands-down and, despite the cost, was worth it.

    Afraid you can't unless you're really good friends with someone who works at P1. Their marketing folks have asked them to stay mum about details of any of the upcoming models.
