Anyone have experience with the Balance CN1401 notebook from Wal Mart?
I know their tech support sucks a$$ because I owned an IC Power CN5560(before it got stolen) and is owned by the same company.
I was wondering if anyone cares to comment on the CN1401.
Thanks in advanced,
Stan

I own a cn1401 and everything is great except the tv in card. I like the ati mobility and it is outperforming my expectations but I cant seem to get the Phillips Fly33 platinum to work at all. The hardware manager doesnt recognise it at all anymore and I cannot find it in the system information drivers. If anyone else has had any luck please let me know........

I have a CN1401 which has the potential of being a great buy with all the extras which are included. Support is horrible and it hasbeen in for repairs twice due to the media center , TV error mentioned above. There is no online downloadable support for this model and as soon as Memorial Day is over I have to call to get it sent in for a third time for repair. The extra memory I purchased has not helped. With 1 GB ram the media center and mini fly tv tuner should be working great but it is not. With the lesser expensive models coming out with double layer DVD burners which this one only has a cd burner and DVD rom, it would behoove anyone out there to purchase from a more reliable company. The laptop I purchased before this one in Nov 05 was a balance and it burned up in two weeks. However, their 19 inch and 17 inch LCD monitors are to die for. If I can return it it is going back Tuesday.

Update:
I got the video card to work on my own by downloading Omega Drivers for the ATI video card. You can also make sure the expansion card for the video card is all the way plugged in.
How did you install the extra memory?
I am trying to see what video games I can play with it but there doesn't seem to be many that will run. Especially with only 512mb of ram installed.
If you could tell me where you found the memory slot it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
