NHC = Notebook Hardware Control
its a software for controlling your laptops power/performance.
I have the latest version with the core Duo patch running, but for some reason the speed stepping is quirky it goes from 6x(1ghz) straight to 11x(1.8ghz) with out going through 7,8,9,10x
anyone else have this issue?

It is not an issue - it is how things work - 99,9% of all time CPU spend time working on either lowest or the highest multiplier. In other words don't worry.

Most of the time that is actually what the processor is doing. I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to make sure everything is working, set up the CPU tab to only use a specific multiplier and the like.
But again, I haven't seen that to be a problem...and CPUs don't always have to do 6->7->8->9->10...many can just jump to what is needed 6->12 for instance. -
My old pentium M did use to go through the steps though so it seems a little weird
secondly it does it while idling, its like on/off/on/off -
my cpu has got exactly the same behaviour as yours juan, though I havent had any stability problems, so I havent really worried about it.

its not an issue. my p4 630 jumps from one multiplier to the other without taking steps. its more efficient this way if u think about it, because it can change it quicker than with steps. one thing is to not become obsessed about it to the point where you're looking at nhc and worrying about it, its working fine
-
wasnt really worried just wondered if it was "just another nhc bug"
although it is far more stable then it use to be -
Sometimes the larger battery symbol next to the systray seems to hang... it displays like "31%", while showing in the extra window (when the mouse pointer is moved over the icon) the real value (like 11%). The regular windows battery icon in the systray behaves normal and shows the correct value.
Exiting and restarting NHC helps - has anyone the same issue?
