I don't know if this is a new model or not but I saw it listed over microcenter( http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=179240 )right now for 1200 minus rebates would be 1000 or so. Here's the spec if anyone interested:

Look like a hybrid of the 3200 and the 5400 by weighing around 6lb or so. Anyone with one please feel free to post their experience or opinions on it.

The 6200 series has been out for a few months now and yes, it offers a great value like their other machines. This and the 6130 are great options that aren't very expensive.

I just went to micro center and looked at this model - it is 899 if you get their credit card (100 off). It looks nice but I am no professional so I can't judge it - I'm very very tempted to buy it. It does not come with service pack two, that much I know.

If I am not mistaken, the 6100 model offer the Intel Pentium chip while the 6200 model offer the amd processor. I think the main difference would be that the battery would be a little better and the heat factor would be slightly less with AMD processor compared to P4. Also from what I see listed on the specs, this one would be slightly lighter than your average desktop replacement, 6lb is almost in the thin and light category, slightly heavier off course. Good Luck then Liz.

Feel free to check out my review of the 6200 at:

The 6210 came out shortly after I bought the 6200 (naturally) and offers a bigger HD and DVD burner.
I've been using my 6200 for a few months now and I still love it. As long as you don't need anything that's a desktop replacement or has a beefy video card, it's great. I love the CD/MP3/DVD playback feature.

Personally, I'm going to pick up a 6240. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ tips the scales for me.
Anyone seen the Averatec 6210 notebook...
