Hey everyone. Just wondering how many people out there with the IFL90's are running windows XP. I ran into a few problems and just want to see if anyone came across anything else. I got my IFL90 barebone and installed everything myself.

    1. One problem I ran into after installing XP with SP2 is that Windows recognizes my dual core processor but can not identify it specifically and titles "Genuine Intel CPU."

    2. Second maybe not a problem, but i didn't know what it was but I have a unknown device that I can not identify, anyone run into this?

If anyone had any other problems, just list them, I would also like to know. Thanks!

I have XP pro and definitely don't have any unknown devices.

And im 99% sure my IFL90 recognizes my CPU.

I also didn't build mine though.

You may need some kind of drivers/firmware for random things like the touchpad and etc, etc.

Right click the unknown device and install driver mapping to the driver DVD, let Windows choose the driver automatically.
My XP Pro SP2 is working OK, had some minor issues (all resolved) at the beginning though.
    Good Luck!

Thanks guys! I fixed the unknown device and it was the Smart battery. I still have the problem of my device manger recognizes my CPU as "Intel Genuine CPU" My computer does read dual CPU tho. I have no idea whats going on here, but I still scored a 3050 in 3DMark06. What scores are you guys getting?

Most of Intel CPU will show Intel Genuine CPU, so you are fine.
So long you see 2 cores in your Device Manager & Task Manager.

I have XP on mine. No unknown devices (the last one was Smart Battery - SBM is the folder name of that driver/program on the drivers CD/DVD). XP works great on the IFL90 (at least for the time it worked... 2nd RMA pending for me :( )

Hi! I've got an IFL90 with XP System. But I've a lot of problems. I'm trying to change to Vista OS. The first problem maybe can be solutionated installing a Core 2 Duo Patch from Intel's Website. This is the link : http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Once installed the Patch, the system recognoise the chipset correctly.
