you should visit the NBR Cooling Central.

you will find that you should NOT be using notebooks on a soft surface (laps, beds, couches, etc..) because that would block the fans on the bottom of the notebook to properly pull in enough air to cool the components in the system.

and you will learn that you should clean out the vents/fans of a system with some compressed air cans (or compressor set @ 40 PSI).

if you are guilty of any of the above, then that could be the reason for the overheating.

69c for what the cpu or the gpu?

for a gpu thats not hot at all, for a cpu thats warm for near idle but not hot. Its load temps that you may need to investigate if they get into the danger zone thats when you should worry.

Its on a desk, and cleaned not to long ago when I added more RAM and a bigger drive. Maybe this is normal, I don't know since it was free from a friend.

My Averatec 7100 also runs hot, and I have replaced the motherboard once . Solved the problem with the NZXT Cryo LX laptop cooler. It has 3 cooling fans and will work with any sized laptop.

    Check it out.

My 2370 runs hot consistently - operating temperatures are generally around 72C, with HDD temps around 63C - 65C; the entire coating of the bottom of the laptop has disintegrated and there are burn spots on the mousepad and corners of the laptop. Unfortunately, I presume this is "normal" for Averatec
