I've looked at countless websites that don't have it in stock/backordered, etc. Are these selling extremely well or did Averatec not make enough or anything else? I'm considering buying one but not if nobody ever has the darn thing in stock, not even Averatec!
-
Says they have 1 in stock. $1299.99. Go for it! -
Thanks. I've been looking all over the internet for this notebook and the website you specified is the only place that has it in stock and is at MSRP!
There's only one review of it on CNET and I don't see on the internet any users to get their opinions of it, this is a very mysterious machine!
I keep seeing plenty of 2371s though but no 1579s. Did Averatec make very few or have they been selling like hotcakes? I remember it was on Circuit City in stock then quickly became out of stock and was removed from the site altogether. Not even Averatec has been listed in their store!
Can someone please explain why there's no 1579s available nor any info about them!?
This is like the most rare notebook in the world!!!! -
Averatec doesn't make many of ANY model it seems.
-
They launched the 1579 and 2371 side by side in May and I can find 2371s plenty in stock but absolutely nothing on the 1579 though. Can someone please tell me whats up? Only one review on it, 99% of online stores don't have it in stock, not available offline, etc.
-
i'll bet they just didn't make enough on their first run. i would find it unusual if it had been discontinued already.
-
Funny you say that, a couple of websites that have it listed on their site say its been discontinued, and its only been out since May!!!

So its already gone out of production you think? It's that rare a laptop already? Wow.
Do you think they'll introduce a new model/SKU?
This seems to be the only place that has it in stock and at or below MSRP and only one.

Whats going on, it was on Circuit City and Target's websites but was quickly removed, did they sell out there or what? -
Maybe they are bumping it to Core 2 Duo or Santa Rosa?
-
LaptopMag.com just did a review on it today.
I don't beleive it, it beat the TZ150N in PCMark05 and 3DMark03 with its 1.06ghz Core Duo processor vs TZ's 1.06ghz Core 2 Duo processor and hundreds more expensive. The Averatec got 2142 and 823 and the Vaio got 1759 and 643. Maybe its because of all the bloatware the TZ is filled with whereas Averatec's have little to none?
Vivek, I know you won't be buying it but whats with the interest in it may I ask? -
It just caught my eye as a nice little notebook for the price, as with the 2300 series. As you said, the performance is similar to or even better than the Sony TZ which costs nearly double. The only thing this doesn't have is an LED backlit screen, so its a bit thicker and heavier, but for what it costs, its excellent.

I am beating myself up over not getting it when Circuit City had it on their website for a short time for only $1200. $#@%!
They have a ton of 2371s but no 1579s! Argh!
I swear to god, I will buy this laptop if a reputable seller only had one to ******* sell! I may have to go with the HP TX1000 or something. -

Its in stock at Amazon for $1250
EDIT: Damn, read the page again, and its just preorder. Sorry
Maybe production is being held up somehow? I bet Circuit City didn't have more than a couple, and they are still waiting for more from Averatec, which is why they have removed it from their site... -
What happened to this notebook, did anyone ever find it to be in stock anywhere?
-
this is a interesting laptop no ultra portable can touch this on price I'm glad I got a good deal on my TZ for 1600 or else I would have jumped on this
Averatec 1579 no where in stock!?
