Both keyboard and touch pad on my Averatec 2150 go wild. When I press one key my laptop carry-on typing without a stop, until I close the application. If that is not enough, it types in different languages. Any one can help?

I suspect that one key is getting stuck down when you press it.

You might be able to remove the key cap and check that the mechanism is working OK. Otherwise you have to look for a replacement keyboard. If the computer is near end-of life and you don't move it around then a USB external keyboard is a cheap work-around.

Thanks for the reply. The problem persists with a USB keyboard aswell. All laptop's keys are responsive and well placed (I can not see any stucked key). Could it be a software issue?

sounds like a windows issue, then. i'd reimage your machine back to a state where it worked. you do have a backup, right?

You can't see a stuck key but maybe the keyboard has a problem. Can you get the internal keyboard out and disconnect it? Then you can see whether the external keyboard works OK or whether there is a software problem.

    Thanks for the reply.
I managed to fix the problem. A slight gap of height on the right side of the keyboard suggested that maybe the keyboard was misplaced. I disconnected the keyboard. It was not diffuclt to do. It involves pushing 6 clips (no screws were involved). After I took out the keyboard the cpu fan was revealed on the right side ot the laptop. Then, I placed the keyboard back, to the extent that no gaps were revealed. The problem solved. I suspect that the keyborad was misplaced at the first place, because of heat.

Thanks for your help. You are a gentleman and a scholar!!
