I received my Averatec 2260-EY1 for Christmas (about a month ago). It has been working flawlessly up until about 4 days ago. I started to notice my mousepad acting very erratically. The mousepad will work fine at some times and then a couple minutes later it will go back to being erratic. I have talked to the Averatec customer service a couple times and these are the things they had me do: 1. Turn off the system, unplug power cord, take off battery.. hold down power button for 45 seconds to release all excess power off mother board (in case of static build up). 2. Do a system restore to a previous date when I knew my laptop was working fine. 3. Update my mousepad drivers. -- I have done all of these things and the mousepad is still acting erratically. It is a Synaptics mousepad by the way. I have also tried to uninstall the mousepad from the Device Manager to let Windows XP install its own drivers but still no change. I can attach a USB mouse and it works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next? Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm having the same issue right now with my girlfriend's Averatec 2200 Series Notebook. Any update with your issue?

Sorry I have no advice to give but to perhaps visit www.averatecforums.com? There's many users of the 2200/2300 series there, hope they can help you out?

This is a known issue with Averatec. They have several laptops waiting for the mousepad to come in from China.

Mine has been with them for 5 weeks and the CSR told me they have laptops from January waiting for parts.

I think someone ought to start a class action lawsuit against these guys.
