I got an Averatec 2300 and installed Vista. The aero didn't work and the graphics performance rating was a 1.0, and the display was listed as 'svga device'. after a long time looking around I finally found the driver which allowed for aero and it raised the performance to 2.1 and also the go 6100 that comes with it is detected.

Now I still have a 'coprocessor' and 'mass storage controller' that need drivers for them.

Any ideas of where to get these?

unrelated - I'm wondering what kind of expansions I can add to the slot above the 3 usb slots on the right

Try installing the chipset(nvidia nforce) and the media card reader drivers. Averatec download site has drivers for the 2371 for Windows Vista which seem to be pretty similar to the 2300 series...

Generally there shouldnt be any problems but unless someone has tried it on the 2300 with Vista I cant say if it will work or not.

2300 is the series name, the 2370 is what he has and the 2371 is exactly the same as the 2370 except it has Vista preinstalled and a different paintjob.

USB, FireWire, eIDE/eSATA, various wireless cards, that sort of thing. There is a dedicated sound card (Audigy 2 ZS) for it as well. I'm assuming you mean the PCMCIA card slot? I doubt Averatec included ExpressCard, but if they did, the options are basically the same at this stage, though ExpressCard will someday allow for GPUs and other things that require a faster bus.

in the 2300 series, it's ExpressCard, not PCMCIA.
