I uninstalled the phoenix recovery stuff and windows would no longer boot. So, I was like, "no big deal, i'll just reformat". But almost none of the drivers on the averatec site will work. I've found most of what I needed elsewhere, but I cannot find ANYWHERE drivers for the video card (Go 6100) that will work, I've tried so many from numerous places. In the device manager it doesn't even list a display adapter, the only mention of it in the device manager is under "Other Devices" > "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" with an exclamation mark near it of course.

Can anyone please help? I'm starting to go crazy.

Your post is a bit vague. There are two XP links on Averatec's site for the 2300 series - and I can only open one - the video driver released last January, a 12mb download. By your statement it is unclear if you tried this one.

And can you tell us what you have tried from numerous places? No sense pointing you back to where you have already been.

Also, with most video drivers, you have to do an uninstall and reboot, before you install another one, which often then requires another reboot.

I have tried both of the ones from the Averatec site (the second link works on and off). I also tried some from the HP site for a notebook I used to have that had the same video card (Presario V3000). I also got some from the nvidia site I believe.

Any that I have tried to install just give an error message saying that it cannot locate a device to match the drivers, none of them actually installed.

That's why I'm thinking it's not a problem with the drivers, but something to do with the computer having no idea that it has this video card...since there is no display adapter listed in the device manager.
