My Averatec 3200 is beeping every 15 seconds and automatic shutdown the laptop for no reason. And it is not detecting the battery anymore. Any suggestion! Is it because of overheating and something got burn out on the motherboard? The laptop is very hot around the memory and CPU area.

The auto-shutdown problem seem to be gone once I place my laptop on the coffee table instead of the sofa.

It's probably overheating, and the table gives it better ventilation than the sofa.
Take some canned air and blow out all the vents. This should be done regularly on laptops.
You can check your temps out with HWMonitor ( http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php)

The beeping sound is an alarm sound of low battery power. You will see alarm option in Power Management. Probably it's time to replace your battery as it's not able to hold charge.

CPU fan should be clean often as air is sucking from the bottom along with dust. I usually do clean the heatsink and fan by water then using a dryer to dry them with warm air. Don't forget to use a good thermal paste to replace the old black thermal pad on the heatsink.

I think you are right. I need a new battery because as soon as I unplug the AC cord, the laptop go to shutdown saying low battery. And Windows doesn't seem to detect the battery.

I hear the CPU fan running from time to time but the laptop seem to be very hot. Should I buy the CPU Cooling Fan & HeatSin from eBay and have it replaced?

If the fan doesn't run noisy then clean the fan and heatsink will solve the problem. Don't forget to use a good thermal paste such as Artic Silver as the old thermal pad is not a good one. Then you should run fan calibration in bios .

A used CPU fan and heatsink is cheap, under $20, if you need to replace the fan.
