I was trying to restore my old 3200, so I inserted the first of three restoration discs and proceeded with erasing the hard drive. Once the computer was done with the first CD it said "insert the second CD and press enter," it was now that I realized that I did not have the second or third disk. Now the computer will no longer boot up, and I do not have another OS for it. What do I do?

    You have 2 options.

    * If you have a friend that has the exact retail copy of Windows XP that your laptop came with you can install the OS with his/hers disk and after the installation AND BEFORE activation use "KeyUpdateTool_enu.exe" (google it) to change the licence to the one on your laptop. Then you can activate XP normally.

    * Install any of the many free Linux distros (Ubuntu, Mint, openSUSE) and be done with it. You may be better off unless you have a specific need for a particular Windows application.

    Good luck with this :)
