OK everyone... I've never replaced a keyboard in a laptop before so please bare with me here... I basically had no trouble until now... which is the part where you plug the new keyboard in to that little port... it's so tiny I can't figure out a way to do it.. I've attached a picture so you know exactly what I'm talking about... please help me out here... I've been without a legit laptop keyboard for it for months... thanks in advance
--- i know for a fact the keyboard works, if i press the part i'm supposed to connect to.. where i'm supposed to connect it to, and type w/ my right hand, it works perfect... i just dont know how to get it to stay, even though there is a clip you're supposed to clip it in with... it wont stay in place, i might just use a makeshift clip by using some strong tape and see what happens...

That connector like most have a slide latch. In most cases it is different color than the body of the socket. You have to use something to move each side toward the cable. Moves about 1/4" the the ribbon will just fall out.

I am considering replacing the keyboard on my Averatec 3250. Averatec wants $146 to do the job, and I can buy a replacement keyboard myself on eBay for $30 and save the difference.
Only problem is that I have never operated on a laptop before. Can you give me a rough idea of how to remove the old keyboard and attach the new one, as well as any difficulties you may have had to overcome in the process?
Thanks!
