The screen on my 3250-H1 developed a weird geometric pattern after only three months of use. I shipped it off to Averatec's Fremont, Ca. repair facility. I got an e-mail today telling me I'm responsible for repairs since there was "Out of Warranty" physical damage. I'm shocked. The unit was in pristine condition and has never been mis-treated. I'm curious about whether anyone else may have run into this problem. I've also sent the repair facility an e-mail requesting specifics of what they call physical damage and how they arrived at their conclusion. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marv

That really stinks, I hope you can get that issue worked out.

Its strange how you joined almost two years ago but have now finally made your first post.

I think the first step would be to hear what they have to say.

Yep, I've been researching laptops for that long. I had to give up a company laptop and since I was shelling out my own money, I wanted to try and get the most computer for the best price possible.

    Just a quick update:
Averatec and Fremontek.... their repair service still won't tell me the precise nature of what they claim is physical damage to my laptop. I sent both a fax tonight... warning them if I don't get a simple answer, I'm filing complaint with the BBB and state consumer protection office
