I went to OfficeMax and saw the Averatec 7100 17" with the Turion 64 25w CPU. What surprised me was how thin it was. The screen quality and appearance looked very, very good. It was easily thinner than the HP 17" Turion notebook sitting next to it. It also had a sticker saying Windows Vista ready. Does anyone know what battery it comes with and battery time?

Does anyone have this laptop? I have the 6130HS which turned out to be a nightmare, but most of the issues with that model have been addressed with the 7170 model: 7200 rpm HD, 1gb ram, mobile processor.

I'm hopeful. One of the main issues for me is the keyboard layout. I've been using my 6130 for two years now and now that I'm borrowing an ASUS Z7000 I'm not liking the keyboard layout. I seriously impacts my ability to work fast. I don't think they kept the same layout on their new models...
