    Has anybody used this laptop or heard any reviews on it?

    Price I found ($999.99) seems great for what I'm getting.

    Specs are:
    Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 2800+
    15.4'' XGA Wide Screen
    60 GB HDD
    512 MB DDR SDRAM
    Built-in Dual DVD +/- Burner
    802.11g Wireless LAN
    Includes Wireless Remote to control the DVD/Audio function to Instantly watch 3 DVDs on a single battery charge through the DVD function or Listen to 7+ hours of Audio CDs or MP3's

    Well, I dug around and couldnt find a review on this specific model. But the 6200 series has gotten some good reviews lately. If you google on " Averatec 6200", you'll find plenty of reading. Heres a review from PC Magazine... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1680540,00.asp , and one from Hardware Central... http://www.hardwarecentral.com/hardwarecentral/reviews/5541/1/ ,both onthe 6200 series. These aren't running the AMD 64, just the XP-M


    Personally, thats what I wanted, but it wasnt available when i needed it. My guess is it will as near cutting edge as a desktop replacement as any big name maker can offer currently. And if i'm not mistaken, there are only a few that are using the AMD 64 in their lappies.
